Contains materials from courses at the Lowell Textile School, Lowell, Mass. (which became the Lowell Textile Institute in 1928 and the Lowell Technological Institute in 1953). Includes a document by Louis A. Olney, professor of chemistry and dyeing at the school, entitled Textile Chemistry and Dyeing, dated 1922. P.W. Machon is written on the title page. Also includes copies of examination questions, 1924-1925, from the Wool Dept., covering worsted and woolen yarns, textile testing, and the technology of wool fibers; and a typescript of a paper entitled Sorting, Scouring and Combing Tests on Rambouillet, Crossbred, Corriedale and Columbia Fleece Wools, made at the Lowell Textile School for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Bureau of Animal Industry, 1925. Also contains Machon's notes, 1920, on the technology of wool fibers, textile testing, gilling, wool scouring, and the theory of carding, with drawings of textile machinery.
